TEHRAN - The Iranian president has voiced confidence in the nation's ability to produce high-quality and diverse goods, even in the face of sanctions and other challenges.

Ebrahim Raisi delivered his remarks during the 35th Appreciation Festival for Workers, Labor Groups, and Exemplary Units on the occasion of Labor Day which was celebrated on Tuesday in Iran. 

"You, the workers of our nation, have thwarted the enemy's efforts across multiple domains. And you've demonstrated that you'll continue to do so, even in the economic arena," he emphasized.

"Today, the enemy witnesses that despite relentless pressures, Iran exhibits economic growth, robust production, innovation, and technological ingenuity, with knowledge-based product exports surpassing a record $2 billion. These achievements are a direct result of your hard work and expertise, showcasing your capability and deserving utmost appreciation," the president concluded.

He hailed the resilience of workers, noting their pivotal role in driving economic advancement through unwavering determination.

Raisi underscored the significance of this gathering following a meeting between workers and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, viewing it as an opportunity to align with directives aimed at bolstering labor initiatives.

Speaking to a group of workers from a prominent Iranian factory catering to both domestic and international markets, the Iranian president commended the showcased products as emblematic of the nation's capability for substantial achievements. However, he emphasized the need to push beyond current boundaries to further enhance productivity.

Highlighting the perseverance of manufacturing units amid adversity, Raisi reiterated the importance of ongoing support to augment both the quality and quantity of daily production. He cited instances of Iranian expertise showcased during recent visits, such as the construction of a dam and power plant in Sri Lanka, as testament to the nation's technological prowess.

Commending the dedication of workers and specialists, the president echoed the Leader's call to identify and empower elite laborers. He outlined initiatives aimed at nurturing excellence within the labor community and fostering innovative ideas generated within workplaces.

Reflecting on the historical contributions of the labor community, particularly during the Iran-Iraq War, the president emphasized their pivotal role in fostering self-reliance. Despite economic hurdles, he highlighted the continued excellence of Iran's youth, entrepreneurs, and workers, akin to their bravery during wartime.

Raisi underscored Iran's resilience against attempts to stifle progress through sanctions, noting sustained economic growth and innovation. 

He attributed the record export of knowledge-based products to the unwavering commitment of workers and specialists, underscoring their indispensable role in propelling the nation forward.
